“Capo d’Orlando is one of those places you almost miss if you’re only headed for the larger towns of the island. But if you take a detour to the northern coast of Sicily, you’ll discover a landscape like no other—jagged faraglioni (rocky sea stacks) rising out of crystal-clear waters, hidden coves, and beaches that seem to belong in a movie scene.
I adore walking along this stretch of coastline, where the rocky formations jut dramatically into the sea, creating a surreal contrast to the lush green hills behind. The view around San Gregorio beach adds to the magic. It’s with fewer tourists, perfect for a long swim, a sunset aperitivo, or a stunning photo shoot!”
Why it’s magical: These coastal gems are a far cry from the typical tourist beaches in Sicily. More peaceful, wild, and totally breathtaking.
2. Savoca: The village that time froze

“Everyone goes to Taormina, but my heart belongs to Savoca. It’s where my father taught me to make wine. There’s a bar where they filmed The Godfather—but even better is the view from the church on the hill. You feel like you’re floating over the sea.”

3. Isola delle Correnti

6. Borgo di Petralia Soprana

“I took a wrong turn in the Madonie mountains and ended up in Petralia Soprana. Best mistake of my life. Old men playing cards, fog rolling through the cobblestones, and views that look like Tuscany but wilder.”
Why it’s magical: It’s what you picture when you dream of an old Sicilian village—but better, because it’s real.
7. Poggioreale: Sicily’s ghost town

9. Santa Maria di Licodia

“My village rests in Etna’s shadow. When I was a girl, we’d pick wild pistachios and “run from the lava” when she got angry. Obviously it wasn’t the lava reaching our town, but this was one of our games. Tourists go to Taormina, but this is the real Etna.”
Why it’s magical: Volcanic soil, pistachios, and people tougher than stone.
10. Punta Bianca, Agrigento

“It’s like the famous Scala dei Turchi, but totally wild and not ruined by tourism. White rock cliffs, tide pools, old military ruins. I go there when I need to feel free.”
Why it’s magical: White cliffs + wild ocean = pure magic. And always very peaceful.
11. Sambuca di Sicilia

“Our village went viral for the €1 houses, but the magic isn’t the cheap real estate. It’s the olive trees, the light, the silence, and my grandmother’s lasagna.”

12. Cava d’Ispica
